The Balos Lagoon (15 minutes by car or by the daily ferry from the port of Kissamos)
The lagoon of Balos has white sand and exotic white, vivid blue and turquoise waters. The sea is very shallow and warm, ideal for young children. In many places the sand has a lovely pinkish color, because of millions of crushed shells. Ideal for snorkeling.
The famous Elafonisi beach recently voted as one of the world’s top 10 beaches with it’s warm swallow waters and pink sand is 35 minutes away by car.
Exotic with white sand and turquoise water it is reminding of the Caribbean. The sand is pinkish in many places and the sea water does not exceed 1m in depth, creating a small lagoon, ideal for children. You can easily cross the lagoon in order to reach the opposite site of the peninsula, because the water is very shallow. There are umbrellas, showers, lifeguards, snack bars and changing rooms.
Kedrodasos beach is 40 minutes away by car.
The beach is full with juniper trees and sanddunes . It is a quiet secluded beach with white sand, one of the last untouched paradises in Europe. Wonderful choice for swimming and a favorite beach for naturists. The European path E4 crosses the beach.
There are numerous other sandy beaches within easy reach of the villa with the closest being Viglia beach (1.5km).
